Felix Neureuther Wins Award for his Facebook Fan Site

Felix Neureuther has won the Schultz-Social-Media-Award for outstanding presences in social media for his facebook page. A jury consisting of German tennis player Andrea Petkovic, Martha Schulz of the Schulz Group who initiated the award, ARD sports presenter Mathias Opdenhövel and former alpine racer Marco Büchel who is now the ZDF-expert for alpine.
The creativity and authenticity of Neureuther’s facebook fanpage convinced the jury to award Germany’s best skiier with the newly created prize. At the moment, more than 500.000 fans like the account and about 40.000 of them like each post, 250 people share them. The growth rates are constant and media likes to quote Neureuther’s statements.
Martha Schulz, initiator of the award regards Neureuther’s page to be exemplary: "Felix shows private things but avoids all kinds of voyeurism and inappropriate intimacy. The professional athlete succeeds in telling about himself as a person. Felix balances on this fine line as safely as he stands on skis".
As a prize, the C team athletes of the German Ski Federation will receive a social media training day with the experts of the Schulz Group. "I am very happy about this award. It’s something I do out of conviction and with a wink“, the winner commented. „It is great that this awards is connected to the promotion of young people. This is very near and dear to my heart. It is very important to me to inform about my activities in this regard, be it my Race Camp in the Öztal or with the initiative "Beweg dich schlau", on the facebook page.
