Slalom Opening in Levi (Finland) Confirmed

It’s confirmed, the Audi FIS Ski World Cup opening slaloms will take place in Levi (FIN) on 12th and 13th November 2016. The confirmation came in following the official snow control by FIS Race Director Markus Mayr.
After a cancellation last season due to mild weather, the Finnish resort was keen to host the ladies’ and men’s slaloms on the Levi Black this year. Fortunately, the temperatures were cold enough in the past days to produce plenty of snow, and the renewed snow making system proved to be efficient.
On 2014 Henrik Kristoffersen of Norway won the World Cup men's slalom opener, beating the world champion Marcel Hirscher by 0.12 seconds. Felix Neureuther finished third,
Tina Maze won in 2014 the first slalom of the season ahead of Frida Hansdotter and Kathrin Zettel.
Levi became a traditional stop on the World Cup Tour and it will be celebrating its 10th anniversary this year!
