Powdr Corp. Launches New Event/Media Business

Powdr Corp. has created a new business, Powdr Enterprises, to focus on events, sponsorships and media opportunities. The aim is to help leverage the Powdr family of brands, including Powdr Resorts, Woodward Camps and Outside Television. Industry veteran Wade Martin will serve as president of Powdr Enterprises.
"Over the last 20 years we have built a unique and valuable collection of resorts, action sports camps, and a niche television network. The creation of Powdr Enterprises will help us leverage the network we’ve built and strengthen all of our brands into the future", said John Cumming, chief executive officer of Powdr.
"Wade is the perfect person to lead Powdr Enterprises. He has an unparalleled track record of successfully creating and leveraging events, media and sponsorships to turn companies into powerhouse brands", Cumming added.
As president of Powdr Enterprises, Martin will guide and oversee all facets of the business including: sponsorship, media, events, licensing, strategic alliances and business development.
Most recently, Martin was the president and CEO of Alli Sports, a global entertainment business whose properties included the Dew Tour, which Martin founded with NBC in 2005, as well the Red Bull Signature Series, AMA Pro Motocross Championship, and allisports.com.
Before joining NBC, Martin was a senior vice president at Octagon and oversaw the Action Sports Division. He was executive director of the Gravity Games and developed them into a premier action sports property.
Powdr Enterprises will be headquartered in Park City and begin operations in the spring 2013.

Powdr Corporation is one of the largest ski resort operators in North America. Unlike its competitors, Powdr focuses on ski area operations rather than real estate development. It is owned by the Cumming family and headquartered in Park City, Utah. John Cumming, who co-founded the clothing company Mountain Hardwear, is the current CEO. Powdr Corporation owns and operates the mountain resorts of Boreal Mountain Resort and Soda Springs Ski Area in California, Copper Mountain in Colorado, Park City Mountain Resort and Gorgoza Park in Utah, Pico Mountain Resort and Killington Resort in Vermont, Las Vegas Ski & Snowboard Resort in Nevada, and Mt. Bachelor in Oregon.
