Les Contamines to host a FIS World Cup Ski Cross Event

Next FIS Freestyle World Cup Ski Cross event will take place in Les Contamines (France) on Sunday. For the 9 th consecutive year, the resort of Les Contamines-Montjoie has been selected to host a FIS Worldcup Freestyle Ski Event in 2011. Rendezvous on the 16th January 2011 for an exciting Ski Cross Race on the Montjoie slope, entirely remodelled this summer.
Located at the heart of the Mont Blanc region, Les Contamines is an authentic village resort of Haute-Savoie. Nestled in a majestic setting, this charming village has become an active tourist attraction through the establishment of a vast and diverse area that offers skiing activities, while conserving its welcoming architecture. Les Contamines is immensely popular among mountain lovers and board-sport addicts. There are 120 kms of piste at Les Contamines with 24 lifts to service 46 groomed trails. Les Contamines has a snow record on a par with conditions in the higher altitude resorts due to a favourable weather corridor. There are also 2 terrain parks (Half-Pipe, Boarder Cross, Big Airs, Rails, Tables...) and good slopeside facilities.
