Solitude (Utah) Opens November 6th

Solitude Mountain Resort officially kicked off the 2009-10 Utah ski season on Friday. On its first day, the ski area opened two lifts, Link and Moonbeam Express, servicing two beginner runs, Easy Street and Main Street. The ski area reported a 16-inch (40 centimetres) base with 40 inches (1 metre) of natural snowfall so far this season.
The resort had opened the Link lift on Halloween for passholders only, but Friday was the area's first open day for the general public. The resort had moved up its originally scheduled opening date by a week.
Nestled in Utah among the towering peaks of the Wasatch Mountains in Big Cottonwood Canyon, Solitude Mountain Resort is a four-season resort, just 40 minutes from the Salt Lake City International Airport.
