Nissan Xtreme

The final stage of the Freeride World Tour (FWT), the mythical Nissan Xtreme will take place in Verbier, the ski resort in the Valais region, on Saturday, March 21st. The world’s top freeriders, both skiers and snowboarders, will be taking part in the 14th edition of the Nissan Xtreme Verbier. After the three Freeride World Tour stops in Sochi, Russia, Squaw Valley, USA and Tignes, France, only the top eight men and three women were qualified in each category. They will be joined by several "Wild Cards" as well as the winners from the Nendaz Freeride, Freeride World Qualifier and sister event to the Nissan Xtreme – Verbier.
The Nissan Xtreme Verbier is held on the North face of the Bec des Rosses, which features an over 50° gradient in certain parts. Riders express their talent by tracing their own lines and putting on a stunning show for the around 5000 spectators gathered on the Col des Gentianes. For the first time at 3000m of altitude, a plane from the Red Bull Air Race will make a 15 minutes show just after the Nissan Xtreme competition above the Col des Gentianes.
