Ski For Free

Formigal, part of the Aramon Group, Spain’s largest ski group with a total of five resorts in the central Pyrenees and southern Aragon. More than a million visitors chose Aramón last season, skiing in the resorts of Formigal, Cerler, Panticosa, Javalambre and Valdelinares. Aramón, currently the only group of ski resorts in Spain, was set up as a joint venture by the Aragon government and Ibercaja bank.
Formigal is located in the Pyrenees in the province Huesca. The ski resort is at an altitude of 1500 m with lifts going up to 2250 m. Formigal is Spain’s largest winter resort. The domain is divided into 4 Valleys/Ski Areas: Valle Tres Hombres-Sextas, Valle de Izas-Sarrios, Valle Anayet y Valle Portalet. There are 21 lifts (11 Chairlifts, 5 Surface lifts, 5 Magic Carpets) and 100 pistes (7 green, 18 blue, 33 red and 39 black). The combined skiing area is 137 km. Formigal also offers 4 Ski Routes, 2 Snowparks, 2 Boardercross/Skicross area and 1 mogul piste.
New to the UK this season, Formigal couldn’t be easier to get to; hop on a direct flight from London Gatwick which takes just two hours to reach the regional airport of Huesca. From here you get straight onto the snow bus for the 75 minute transfer to the slopes of Formigal.
