Stockhorn ski lift extends the free ride area in Zermatt

In the summer of 2007, a new ski lift was erected in Zermatt extending the possibilities to enjoy Freeride in the Triftji/Stockhorn area. Zermatt Bergbahnen AG, the management company of the ski lifts, attaches great importance to making the downhill run area accessible even after the closure of the Hohtälli - Stockhorn cable railway.
This winter season, thanks to the new lift, you can reach the Stockhorn restored mountain station at an altitude of 3,405 metres to access the Stockhorn Ski Route or connect with the Ski Routes accessible by the Hohtälli or Rote Nase lifts.
Now with the Stockhorn ski lift a total of 38 kilometres of Ski Routes are available in the Matterhorn Ski Paradise to enjoy challenging skiing in one of the most spectacular off piste terrain in the Alps.
