Nissan Outdoor Games in Chamonix

From Thursday 14 February to Sunday 17 February seven teams with the top athletes representing the extreme sports of skiing, snowboarding, mountaineering, speed-riding and BASE-jumping will be in Chamonix to dispute the Nissan Outdoor Games by Columbia film and photo competition.
After 3 summer editions of the event, the Outdoor Games happen in the amazing scenery of the Mont Blanc region during the winter season. For five days preceding the event, as a prelude to this fantastic alpine show, the winter games will host about sixty athletes, photographers and cameramen from Europe and the USA to take part in the competition. Their challenge: shooting and editing 20 pictures and a short film, which according to the rules, must be no longer than 5 minutes including a sequence of BASE jumping, paragliding, mountaineering, skiing and snowboarding.
On Saturday night, downtown Chamonix, the films and the photos are shown to the public on a giant screen. A professional jury elects the winner, like in any other film festival. Sports initiations, ice climbing competitions and many other animations are organized for the public with some of the world’s best athletes.
